Labradors and Poodles

Whilst we ADORE labradoodles we also love their pedigree ancestors Labradors and Poodles. It is imperative that any foundation pedigree ancestors are health tested to ensure that future generations of crosses do not inherit any genetic problems. So we are dedicating this page to the foundation labradors and poodles without whom we couldn't have labradoodles.

We work with some of the very best labrador and poodle breeders in the uk. And we want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has helped and supported our goal of creating a healthy and diverse gene pool for our labradoodle lines. There is often serious stigmatism attached when KC breeders support an unrecognised breed especially within show breeder circle. It takes real committment and vision for a pedigree breeder to step out from the crowd and help us. This is greatly appreciated.

Labradors come in 3 colours. The testing which is adviseable for Labradors is hip scoring and eye testing because of a susceptibility to hip dysplasia and hereditary eye problems. There can also be skin, ear and allergy issues.

Poodles come in 3 sizes (Standard, Mini and Toy) and many colours (Black, White/Cream, Silver, Apricot/Red, Chocolate and Blue). Poodles should also be hip scored, eye tested, SA (skin problem) tested and have no addisons or entropian eye in their lines. We also look for temparament as some poodles can be aloof and shy, others highly strung and a few are frankly completely bonkers.
